New Graff / Penhall Logo
You may have noticed the new "Graff / Penhall" logo. This recent change to our 45-year icon is in celebration of our relationship with The Penhall Company. In addition to our increased bonding, insurance and financial resources, Graff is now part of North America's largest concrete cutting company as well as Ontario's Industry leader in concrete cutting, scanning and X-Ray services. Plan to see our new logo proudly displayed on our new 2011 and recently up-graded fleet of service and sales trucks.
Who's who at The Graff Company
It's not often you find someone that has worked with the same company for over 40 years. The Graff Company has had two such employees and currently has 14 employees with between 20 and 40 years of service. This long-term commitment is a reflection of our company culture as well as our commitment to our customers, some of whom have been loyal to us since we opened our doors in 1965.
40 year employee Steve Ewles recently retired from Graff. John MacDonald, previously our Contract Manager has replaced Steve as Operations Manager. John joined the Graff Team over 20 years ago and has worked as a field technician until he was promoted to estimator in 2008. John's practical experience combined with his project management skills make him uniquely qualified to lead Graff into the future.
Our commitment to exceptional customer service is job 1 at Graff. Leading this commitment is our Sales and X-Ray Manager, Len LaFond. Len joined the Graff Team in 1988 and has enjoyed the opportunity to service almost every major contractor in not only the GTA but throughout Ontario. Len and his sales team stand ready to assist you with all of your cutting, drilling, scanning and X-Ray needs. To contact Len, e-mail len@graffconcrete.com. For general information or to request a quote, contact our sales department at inquiry@graffconcrete.com.
Our signature damage prevention division has recently expanded our suite of services. Grafscan now provides full-service private utility locating. Whether you're a contractor or facility owner, Grafscan has the capability to locate and map your underground utility services.
Along with our expansion in services, Grafscan is growing in size. We have recently increased our fleet of Radar Scan Vans and X-Ray trucks. This growth will help us better service the needs of our customers and their clients. Safety Director
A recent addition to The Graff Company is Sigfred (Ziggy) Estensen. Ziggy comes well qualified certified as a CRSP, OFM, Trainer - Facilitator and a number of other health and safety accomplishments. Through constant training and project monitoring, Ziggy and the entire Graff Team are focused on ensuring an incident-free workplace and are committed to do whatever it takes to ensure a ZERO accident culture.
Signature projects
The Graff Company has been contracted to perform the cutting and concrete removals on the Union Station Roof Removal project. This 200 million-dollar/ five year project requires among other things, extensive wall sawing, wire sawing and selective demolition. General contractor AECON Construction recognized the difficulty involved in this project and chose Graff to be part of their team. Graff Project Superintendent Dennis Sanders heads up the project staff and has enjoyed an accident-free performance to date.
Another exciting project is the TTC Dufferin Subway Station. This project will require extensive wire and wall sawing and well as a significant amount of hand demolition. The biggest challenge will be to perform all of this while preventing any impact to the traveling public.
